It is Time for Art and Politics to Have a Trial Separation

I guess this interaction I had on Facebook with Chris Stein from Blondie just about sums it up for me at this point. Chris is a lovely guy and I was not snubbing him, but enough is enough.

  1. Well said!

However, even Plato's Republic concedes that musicians should be licensed, due in no small part to an innate ability to influence those who heed the sirens call (thank you Mr Watt). In fact, weren't the ancient bards themselves persecuted and driven into obscurity by an oligarchical priesthood who sought to diminish the extensive influence of an oral tradition steeped in lore, experiential knowledge and the universal principles of cause and effect.
Anyway, as I myself have recently been reminded; you cannot wake the dead, even though your very soul weeps for them.

But I digress, I would be extremely interested in your saguine, cultivated, and nuanced opinion on the extreme level of inversion, projection, mirroring, obfuscation, duplicity and outright 'gaslighting' being conducted by various embedded organs of the 'mediums with the message'.

    Cheers.
