Professional Criticism is Not Personal Hatred

One thing I noticed about people in the alternative community is that for all their 'truth' and 'spiritual' pontifications, many take professional criticism VERY personally. You take umbrage with another person's work...it is instantly deemed a 'personal attack'. Their fans go mental and assume the same and launch a real personal attack in return. It's incredibly fucked up.

People are more than welcome to rip my research and work to shreds once it is honest evaluation based on the content and not a personal attack on me. I want sincere criticism, makes me work harder and see things different. This is healthy and I know this is not a personal assault upon me. I welcome it.

Yet this movement is filled with 'delicate flowers' who can't deal with any professional criticism.

I have been very critical of some people's work in certain areas, yet I consider them essentially decent men and women. We really need to get over this shit.

You learn to turn a guitar when it is out of tune. Criticism is very important. That's a professional mindset. It really works in your favour to know when you are wrong.

  1. The entire problem with the "movement" is that it is so fragmented. I think this is on purpose to keep up separated and from coming together to oppose the people in control. Thy also give us what I term Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows ( thank my kids for that) to lead us, saying everything has to be peaceful, don't get angry, kind of leaders. they seem to be there to surpress people from going to far and keep them in line without seeing that they are been kept in line.

Just my take on it, as from what I am seeing across the world at the moment, the people who protest peacefully are getting their heads kicked in and jailed. The ones that are tearing the place up and pushing back are starting to get results as the powerstructure tries to shut them up and close them down before people see that this is working. And many of their enforcers have also been switching sides to the protesters to by the looks of it. Not in the mainstream, just the alternative media.

  2. You have to realise that you need to be sensitive when you give negative feedback. Before that you should first telm what you liked. Comments that are only negative insult.

    1. If you were replying to me been only negative I am a bit confused, as I was just observing what is going on. If you are insulted, then I really am sorry that my comment hurt you personally. I honestly didn't see it as negative feedback in any way at all, just an observation.

    2. No man, Just that its good to be sensitive to the recipient of critical feedback, so its nice to and generally makes them more receptive to constructive criticism if one prefaces it with a few complements. "Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down" an whatnot.

  5. Thomas -- you are correct .. but its about being popular .. it feels like 'highschool' to me in the 'truth movement' .. I love when people run radio shows and never lift up a book .. its funny .. but the pretty women seems popular, like highschool... or if they have a sexy voice .. etc... and the elder dudes - male and female - don't always get heard .. its a youth game .. I'm not in it .. but I like to watch that alternative show .. its almost as comical as the mainstream show .. have you read Niki Raapana's book yet .. I know you'd love it .. I found myself laughing out loud at some points .. "2020" Our Common Destiny & The Anti-Communitarian Manifesto" .. ACL Books, a small Alaskan press ... let me know .. you can message me or check my page 'Thirdeye Sqeegeey' .. I value your insights (0: happy holidays from Eastern Canada.. [I've never gone to a protest or march .. but that picture is a great one you used, makes me chuckle]
